My name is Konrad Jan Kaczmarczyk. I was born on 30 September 1988 in Słupsk and have lived inside music for as long as I can remember. Not beside it but in it, as though it were the natural environment in which breathing and understanding the world came more easily.
I was the man who made soundtracks for people's lives, or at least fragments of them. I behaved a little like a curator of feeling, somebody able to fish one track out of thousands and land precisely on a moment, a condition or something people could not name for themselves. There were songs for break-ups, falling in love, coming back and those times when everything collapses and one has to gather the pieces without really knowing how.
Around 2003 and 2004, I joined the Kantele choir at my secondary school in Słupsk. Singing stayed with me for years as I moved through several choirs. It felt completely natural, something one does like breathing, without analysis or calculation, simply by being inside it.
Then came 2022 and the accident. A lorry, a few seconds dividing life into before and after without asking permission, leaving you in a place where everything must be learned again even if you had believed the whole arrangement was complete. We all survived, which matters most. There is no point pretending such things leave no trace. They go deeper than you want to admit, changing not only the body but the way you see people, relationships and yourself.
My life now looks different from the plan. My wife and children are far away, the body has its limitations and the story of my marriage is reaching its end with more questions than answers. Yet all this failed to take one thing. Music still works. It still lands and can still put me in order or throw me into total chaos, depending on what happens to be necessary.
I cannot yet return to singing and playing as I would like, so I do what I can. I write about songs, emotions and those moments when one sound can smash you into pieces or rebuild you more effectively than anything else. I write honestly, with no pretence and no attempt to please a target.
I have an absurd number of ideas, enough to fill several libraries and leave plenty over. Every day I add some of them to TONY MUZYKI, building something meaningful even when the road towards that meaning is brutally uneven. Wayward? Probably. Defiant? Definitely. If I still have something to say, this is where I will say it, and I have no intention of suffocating it inside myself.
This is only the beginning. I will not change the world, but one song may change somebody's day. Sometimes that is more than enough.
